SAS (Students, Faculty)

Platform: Linux
Category: Applications > Business Tools

SAS is a statistical software package used for predictive and descriptive modeling, data mining, text analytics, forecasting, optimization, simulation, experimental design and more.

Two different versions of SAS are available to NJIT Students and Faculty:

1. SAS OnDemand for Academics: "SAS OnDemand for Academics" contains the same features as the "SAS Education Analytical Suite". The difference is that the SAS OnDemand is a cloud based version that does not require downloading.

Faculty: Faculty need to signup for "SAS OnDemand for Academics" and create a class that will be accessed by students. Instructors share a link to that class with their students who then enroll themselves. For more information about "SAS OnDemend for Academics" and instruction how to register your class visit:

Students: Students can either enroll themselves into a course using a link provided by their instructor or register as an independent learner. More information about getting started with "SAS OnDemand" is available at:

2. SAS University Edition "SAS University" is available for use by students and faculty. This version includes Base SAS, SAS/STAT, SAS/IML, SAS/Access, and SAS/Studio. "University Edition" can be installed on any personal or NJIT owned machine, runs as a virtual machine on your computer, and is accessed via a web browser.
